ANGELA

DENNISON

Official Candidate for Councillor, District 1

Waverley - Fall River - Musquodoboit Valley

Hello there!

I’m excited to announce that I’m running to be your next councillor. Our district is a special place, full of unique neighborhoods and beautiful rural areas. I’m passionate about our community and eager to represent you all, making sure our voices are heard and our needs are met.

Listening to You

The heart of my campaign is simple: listening to you. I want to hear your ideas, concerns, and hopes for our community. I'll set up regular town hall meetings and open forums so we can have real conversations about what matters most to you. Your input will shape our decisions, ensuring that everyone feels included and valued.

Bridging Suburban and Rural Needs

District 1 is a wonderful mix of suburban neighborhoods and rural communities, each with its own charm and needs. I’m committed to making sure both areas get the attention they deserve. Whether it’s improving public transport for our suburban areas or enhancing internet connectivity for our rural parts, I’ll work hard to bridge any gaps and bring us closer together.

Protecting Our Environment

We’re lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and it’s our duty to protect it. I’m dedicated to promoting sustainable development that respects our environment. This means supporting green building projects, expanding public transit, and investing in renewable energy. Together, we can ensure a greener, healthier future for District 1.

Boosting Our Local Economy

Our local businesses are the backbone of our community. I’ll champion initiatives that attract new businesses, support entrepreneurs, and provide job training for residents. By strengthening our local economy, we can create more opportunities for everyone and help our district.

Supporting Our Youth

Our young people are the future of our communities. I’ll support programs that provide educational resources, extracurricular activities, and mentorship opportunities. By investing in our youth, we’re investing in the future success of our district.

I’m truly excited about the opportunity to represent District 1. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected, and prosperous community. I ask for your support and your vote.

About Me

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a bit about my background.

I grew up in Fall River, near the lake beside Wilson’s Gas. Although the house I grew up in is no longer there, the cherished memories of my time in Fall River will always remain with me.

My grandmother lived in Dutch Settlement, and we would visit her on Jollimore Road every Sunday for dinner. I fondly remember accompanying her to St. George’s Church, where she volunteered. I would often be found in the kitchen, keenly watching the preparations for community suppers and various events.

My stepfather worked for Air Canada, and I had the opportunity to visit him at work from time to time. Witnessing the evolution of the airport over the years has been a fascinating experience.

Currently, I reside in Middle Musquodoboit and deeply appreciate the strong sense of community and belonging here.

These experiences have given me a comprehensive understanding of both suburban and rural issues facing our District. My passion for this area and its communities drives my desire to represent you on city council. I am committed to being a voice for our diverse needs and advocating for the best interests of all residents.

Thank you for considering my candidacy.
